Mirage, the second stand-alone expansion for Magic: The Gathering, is coming in early October 1996. Over 300 new cards, all-new art, and new abilities unhinge traditional Magic: The Gathering game play.
New Game Environment
- Mirage is set in the lush regions of an equatorial continent and boils with the intrigue of one epic wizard, three powerful wizards, and one inventive planeswalker. Follow the continuing story of Dominia. To learn more, read The Story of Jamuraa.
- Mirage features the art of both old favorite and new artists.
New Rules
- Phasing allows certain lands, artifacts, and creatures to shift in and out of the game. Permanent just became a relative term.
- Flanking creatures have the brains and speed to attack blockers in places they least expect. These agile attackers weaken their blockers and impair their ability to deliver maximum damage.
- These new rules are explained in a newly revised rulebook included in each 60-card starter deck.
Make sure you see Mirage . . . before you see it on the other side of the table.
