Wizards of the Coast, Inc. has made an agreement with ILM International to distribute its new roleplaying magazine Cryptych to the adventure gaming market. WotC was impressed with the professionalism and quality shown by Cryptych‘s editor, Joanne White, so we decided to help her fledgling company by providing distribution for her magazine. All the editorial and production control will be handled solely by ILM Internation, with WotC providing only sals support. In addition to Cryptych’s normal array of articles, The Apothecary, the official Wizards of the Coast newsletter, will be published bumonthly by ILM International and will retail for $2.95. It has a full-color cover and the first issue will have 95 pages. Issue #1 will be released in July and will feature extensive advice to gamemasters, articles for Paranoia, Warhammer 40K‘s Monday Night Blood Bowl, and the debut of the Envoy system (see the related article in this issue of Whispers).

We feel that Cryptych is just the type of quality roleplaying magazine that the industry needs right now and we are very happy to lend our support to getting this ventureoff the ground. Please talk up this new magazine with your customers. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
