Phasing

Phasing allows certain lands, artifacts, and creatures to shift in and out of the game, making “permanent” a relative term. That being the case, which of the following is correct?

  1. Phasing is a new creature disability in Mirage
  2. Phasing is a new creature ability in Mirage
  3. Both
  4. Neither

The answer is C – Both. The disability is obvious. You play your creature, then next turn it’s gone. The ability is what you can do while your creature is gone.

Try experimenting with Reality Ripple. When your opponent targets one of your creatures with a spell, play this instant in response. Last instant played resolves first: your creature phases out. When your opponent’s spell tries to resolve, it fizzles without a target.
