“To an inhabitant of distant Aku, Kenlo would seem a dusty village. To an innocent herder of the Ntatsu Plain, it would seem the very City of Cities. To Fola it was the town of her ancestors, and her home–therefore, the perfect size.
“Three people see three Kenlos. If you were to tell a story of Kenlo, which story would be the real one: the village, the town, or the city? Just as people have stories, so do cities and nations and worlds, and each story can be told a thousand ways–depending on who is doing the telling.
“But here I am philosophizing as if I were the great Naimah herself, when you are here to hear Fola’s tale! Shall I continue?”
