Logo Redesign
Needed some change.
The very first logo I designed for my site was the perfect melding of book and Planeswalker symbol, but it was instead used for The Vorthos Cast as that project held priority (and rightly so). The second logo I designed was a unique diamond image which sacrificed half of its available space for the shape and featured a tilted “L”. For those unfamiliar, “L” is not the first letter of the site name. The third logo was a recent coal-flame attempt, inspired by Leshrac’s depiction in the Armada comics, however it appeared too generic no matter the tweaking and retooling. A unique flame shape is also hard to scale and logos featuring flames are decently overused—most notably by Curse, who is associated with game wikis.
This new design is by no means a masterpiece. It solves my long-standing desire for bookmark inclusion and visibility at favicon scale, but in an odd way. The color palette is a favorite though since I landed on it and finalized the art before realizing it reminds me of Vow of the Disciple from Destiny 2. The only pitfalls I really wanted to avoid were screaming “Magic card” or “five colors” or echoing an iconic set symbol.
I do love the vibe though and that is more than enough for me.
